Dubai has secured the top spot in the Arab world and climbed to 11th place globally in the "The Best Maritime Capitals in the World for the Year 2024" ranking. The announcement was made in Singapore during the launch of an international report by DNV and Menon Economics, renowned companies that assess maritime capitals worldwide.
Dubai's ascent in the Leading Maritime Capitals index for 2024 is credited to five key factors: shipping centres, naval technology, ports and logistics, attractiveness and competitiveness, and financial and legal aspects.
The report also highlighted Dubai's emphasis on green technology within the maritime sector.
Despite Dubai's achievement, Singapore has maintained its position as the world's top naval city for 2024.
