Norway has introduced a new night train experience that lets travellers enjoy the Northern Lights (aurora borealis) from inside panoramic glass-window carriages, offering a unique way to witness one of the world’s most spectacular natural light shows.
The service, designed for the winter season between October and March, runs on Norway’s scenic Ofoten Line, which passes through the Arctic Circle and delivers stunning views of snow-covered mountains, fjords and remote Arctic landscapes.
Passengers ride in specially built cars with floor-to-ceiling windows and glass roofs, giving nearly uninterrupted views of the night sky and raising the chance of seeing the aurora without having to step outside into the cold.
The panoramic design lets travellers relax in comfortable seats with tilted backrests, so they can enjoy the sky’s shifting colours directly through the glass. The train’s low interior lighting and regulated climate help keep the experience cosy even during long winter nights.
