Several Indian media outlets reported that a new, multiple-entry, five-year visa has been introduced for Indian tourists.
Since two years ago, tourists of all nationalities have obtained a five-year multiple-entry visa. On Thursday, several Indian media outlets reported that a new, multiple-entry, five-year visa has been introduced for Indian tourists. The UAE originally declared the multiple-entry visa in 2021, and the initial visas were issued shortly after that.
This week, at a travel exhibit in Mumbai, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) emphasized this to increase tourism from one of its top markets.
The visa, which is granted after the service request is received and accepted within two to five business days, grants the holder permission to remain in the country for 90 days. The stay can be renewed once for a similar period, with a total stay not exceeding 180 days in one year.
According to a senior UAE official, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism has received excessive inquiries regarding the 5-multiple-entry tourist visa over the past two years.
According to a LinkedIn post by Bader Ali Habib, the regional head of proximity markets for the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, this visa has significantly transformed the travel industry by eliminating obstacles for last-minute excursions and establishing itself as the preferable option among regular travellers.
The post read: "The amount of inquiries we have been receiving from India over the last two years on this visa category has been overwhelming.”
Ali Habib emphasized the multifunctionality of the visa, which allowed for visits to loved ones, gatherings with acquaintances, and participation in professional or recreational activities. He said: "The five-year multiple entry visa initiative signifies a strategic step towards deepening our already existing ties with India. This historic milestone will not only open doors to a longer and more enriching experience for Indian tourists but also provide a platform for increased economic collaboration."
