Intrepid Travel is set to open a new destination management office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, later this year, marking its 32nd global office. The move strengthens the company's Central Asia network, as bookings to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan rise 70 per cent year-over-year in 2025. The office will support locally managed trips and expand community-connected experiences in the region.
Intrepid Travel, one of the world's leading adventure travel companies, announced plans to expand its destination management network with the launch of a new country office in Uzbekistan last year. The Tashkent-based office will serve as a destination management company led by a country general manager and supported by a small operational team and regional trip leaders. The office will play a central role in managing locally led trips, developing community-focused experiences and supporting operations across Central Asia.
This development reflects Intrepid's 2030 strategy ot scale its network of locally managed DMCs while enhancing regional capacity in high-demand destinations. Uzbekistan will become the company's 32nd global office.
The decision follows strong demand for Central Asia, with bookings across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan up 70% year-over-year in 2025. Natalie Kidd managing director Asia and head of global operations Intrepid Travel said "This is a natural next step in our strategy ot grow where wer are seeing momentum and to support that growth with strong local teams, Central Asia is an exciting region for Intrepid and having our own DMC in Uzbekistan means we can better support our leaders partners and travellers on the ground."
Ashish Verma, regional manager for North and South Asia at Intrepid Travel, added: "Uzbekistan has seen a huge surge in interest with its rich culture, welcoming communities and incredible landscapes. We have had strong relationships with partners here for many years, and we are excited to build on that foundation with a dedicated local team."
The expansion comes alongside the introduction of two new Central Asia itineraries. The 10-day Kyrgyzstan: Trekking the Tien Shan Trails trip follows nomadic routes through the western Tien Shan mountains, with overnight stays in yurts, and features rail journeys, homestays, and wine tasting at a family-run winery in Almaty, spanning four countries: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
