The Embassy of the Slovak Republic has appointed VFS Global to temporarily manage visa application processing after the suspension of services previously handled by BLS International. The move is intended to ensure uninterrupted visa operations and minimise inconvenience for applicants seeking to travel to Slovakia.
According to the embassy, VFS Global was selected after a global tender process conducted by Slovakia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. The company confirmed that its visa application centres have the infrastructure and workforce required to efficiently accommodate the additional application volume.
The transition will initially cover visa application centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, where VFS Global expects to process approximately 30 to 50 visa applications per day. The arrangement has been introduced to maintain seamless visa services while the suspension of the previous service provider remains in effect.
Embassy officials stated that applicants whose appointments were affected by the suspension will receive updated guidance regarding the new application process. Travellers are advised to follow official embassy and VFS Global announcements for appointment scheduling, document submission requirements, and processing updates.
VFS Global, which manages visa and consular services for several governments worldwide, said it has the operational capacity to support the increased workload while maintaining standard service levels. The company will continue coordinating closely with Slovak authorities to facilitate a smooth transition for applicants.
The temporary transfer of visa processing highlights the embassy’s efforts to maintain continuity in consular services and reduce disruptions for travellers.
