THE SEVEN MOSQUES

The Seven Mosques is a group of historic mosques located in the area of Uhud, near Madinah, Saudi Arabia. These mosques are significant because they are tied to the events of the Battle of Uhud, a pivotal moment in the early years of Islam. The battle took place in 625 CE, just a few years after Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his followers migrated to Madinah. 4. Masjid al-Tawbah – Built at the site where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions made a vow to remain united despite the losses they had faced during the battle.
5. Masjid al-‘Iraqi – This mosque is located at the site where the Muslim army made their final stand during the battle, marked by their bravery and resilience.
6. Masjid al-Majid al-‘Amr – A mosque built near the site of the Muslim defense, where companions of the Prophet (PBUH) showed exceptional courage.
7. Masjid al-Hamza – Located close to the grave of Hamza ibn Abdul-Muttalib, the Prophet’s uncle, who was martyred during the battle and is one of the most revered figures in Islam.
