Citybus, West Kowloon Unite To Boost Hong Kong Tourism

Citybus and the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority have partnered strategically to promote cultural tourism in Hong Kong. The collaboration will offer tourists discounted museum tickets and sightseeing passes while enhancing transport connectivity to arts destinations. The partnership also explores bundled tourism products, improved wayfinding and sustainable solutions to support Hong Kong's cultural and environmental ambitions.

Citybus Limited and the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority have signed a memorandum of understanding to forge a strategic partnership to enhance Hong Kong's position as a world-class cultural destination. This is the first collaboration between WKCDA and a public transportation company, with both parties pledging to promote cultural tourism jointly while improving access to the West Kowloon area.

The agreement was signed at the West Kowloon Cultural District, where Citybus managing director Richard Hall and WKCDA CEO Betty Fung were in attendance. The first promotional campaign, which coincides with Golden Week, will offer tourists a 10 per cent discount on M+ and Hong Kong Palace Museum tickets when using Citybus+ Sightseeing Passes. Additionally, those who subscribe to Westk's e-newsletter will receive over 35% off the Citybus+ Dayrider Sightseeing Pass.

He added that the partnership strengthens Citybus' contribution to the tourism sector, particularly through its open-top sightseeing routes that act as connectors for cultural landmarks across Hong Kong.

Betty Fung commented, "We are thrilled to partner with Citybus to jointly promote arts and culture and cultural tourism. Through Citybus' extensive network and Westk's vivacious programme, we aim to provide visitors with a diverse and convenient tourism experience."

Beyond promotions, the partnership also covers route optimisation, improved wayfinding, and new energy initiatives in line with Hong Kong's sustainability goals. Both organisations hope the alliance will bring more visitors to the district while highlighting the importance of integrated cultural and transport planning to support the city's creative economy.
