The company, which operates several high-profile observatories, including the Montparnasse Tower in Paris, the Berliner Fernsehturm 260 CHICAGO, and Euromast in Rotterdam, has steadily increased its international footprint. A sixth site is expected to open in summer 2025 at the top of Warsaw’s Varso Tower, currently the tallest building in the European Union.
The French-based company Magnicity, expected to manage urban observation platforms, has announced a global expansion plan. The group is currently discussing the development of new websites in Asia, America, and Europe and is searching for a new architectural concept, a spiral tower, and the roll-out of a modular structure that promotes permanent urban tourism.
The company, which operates several high-profile observatories, including the Montparnasse Tour in Paris, the Berliner Fernsehturm 360 CHICAGO and Euromast in Rotterdam, has steadily increased its international footprint. A sixth site is expected to open in summer 2025 at the top of Warsaw’s Varso Tower, currently the tallest building in the European Union.
In Chicago, where Magnicity manages 360 CHICAGO, the group has recently acquired the 95th and 96th floors of the building. These will be integrated into the existing visitor experience following a multimillion-dollar renovation scheduled for completion in 2027. The expansion follows a decade of investment into the site, totalling approximately $20 million, which has resulted in a 60% increase in visitation. As part of its outreach efforts, Magnicity hosted an event at 360 CHICAGO for Indian travel trade delegates during IPW 2025.
While the gathering showcased the site’s offerings, it primarily served as context for the company’s broader strategic direction.
“At Magnicity, we believe cities have stories to tell, and the best way to hear them is from above,” said Alexia Vetter, CEO of Magnicity. “Welcoming our Indian partners to 360 CHICAGO was a celebration of connection, culture, and shared ambition.
When we expand globally, we inherently create meaningful local experiences, such as echoes on boundaries. ,,
The future development includes a spiral tower, a permanent structure made from modular spiral units. The project is part of the company's approach to corporate social responsibility and aims to support tourism practices that are responsible in the urban environment.
