Nepal saw an increase in international tourists in October 2025. Most of these visitors came from India. In total, the country welcomed 128,443 tourists in October. This is 3.3% more than the same month last year.
Nepal saw 943,716 air travelers between January and October which is a slight 0.3% rise over the same period the year before. With 243,350 visitors throughout this ten-month period, Indian nationals constituted the greatest source of arrivals.
The Indian market is still the most important for Nepal, according to tourism experts, because of the country's close proximity, easy visa application process, and high level of interest in both culture and leisure. They pointed out that Nepal's efforts to restore its tourism industry following global disruptions are showing strong momentum, as evidenced by the rising numbers from India.
While the overall growth is modest, the data suggests a stabilisation in the tourism flow and provides encouragement for stakeholders. Hoteliers, tour operators and regional businesses are now focusing on converting this recovery into stronger gains by offering tailored packages for Indian travellers.
Officials also cautioned, however, that sustaining growth will require improved infrastructure, targeted marketing in key source markets and consistent service quality across destinations. With regional competition increasing, Nepal is expected to intensify its promotional efforts and focus on value-added travel segments such as trekking, adventure and wellness.
