The cooperation between Travelife for Tour Operators and TOFT (Travel Operators for Tigers) has been extended through 2026 in order to promote ethical and sustainable tourism practices in Nepal and India.
The renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) strengthens their shared mission to embed sustainability as a key principle in the region’s travel industry.
As part of the agreement, TOFT will manage on-ground implementation through its member network, offering access to Travelife’s online training modules, sustainability coaches, and reporting tools. Travelife, in turn, will provide the digital infrastructure, training materials, certification oversight, and help desk support to ensure adherence to international sustainability standards.
The collaboration aims to align local tour operators and travel agents with global frameworks such as ISO 26000 and EU sustainability benchmarks. It also promotes greater transparency, environmental responsibility, and social accountability within the travel trade.
In order to strengthen their long-term commitment to creating a more sustainable tourism environment in India and Nepal, both organizations intend to launch destination-level projects, workshops, and certification efforts during 2026.
