GMR Aero led Delhi International Airport, which is in collaboration with the Bureau of Immigration. It will introduce an E-Arrival Card facility for foreign travellers from October 1 2025. The digital platform will replace paper-based arrival cards, streamlining passenger clearance, reducing queues and supporting sustainability efforts by cutting paper usage at the airport.
Delhi International Airport, operated by GMR Airports, has announced the launch of an E-Arrival Card facility for foreign travellers from October 1, 2025. It was implemented under the aegis of the Bureau of Immigration; the new system aligns with the government's Digital India vision to simplify and digitise passenger processes. This feature enables international passengers to fill in the details of arrival through safe platforms and eliminates the requirement for paper-based arrival cards. This infection is expected to reduce the treatment time at the immigration counter, cut queues, and increase overall efficiency. Additionally, this step supports the stability goals of Delhi Airport by reducing paper usage.
The digital service can be accessed via the Bureau of Immigration's website, the Indian Visa portal. Passengers will be able to complete their forms up to three days before their scheduled arrival. This initiative positions Delhi Airport as a leading international hub, comparable to those in Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, which already offer similar digital immigration facilities.
The introduction of the E-Arrival Card follows the earlier rollout of India's first Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveller Programme at Delhi Airport in June 2024. Together, these initiatives mark a new phase in creating more seamless and secure travel experiences for both international and domestic passengers.
Videsh Kumar Jaipuria, CEO, said: "We are delighted to join hands with the Bureau of Immigration to launch the E Arrival Card facility for international passengers. The initiative mirrors the Government of India's commitment to delivering a world-class, hassle-free travel experience while promoting sustainable practices. After digitising the arrival card process, we are enabling faster clearances, shorter waiting times, with greater convenience to enhance the overall passenger experience."
With the launch of this facility, foreign travellers arriving in India can look forward to a streamlined process that prioritises convenience, sustainability and efficiency.
