Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai has experienced record passenger numbers this festive and winter season. This increase comes from strong demand for flights during the holidays and at the end of the year. The airport registered its highest passenger counts in recent months as travellers took to the skies for seasonal trips.
According to data released by Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), CSMIA saw several single‑day passenger records broken in November 2025, with about 176,000 travellers using the airport on its busiest day — November 29 — marking an all‑time high for the airport during the ongoing travel surge.
Officials said this uptick reflects sustained festive and winter travel demand, supported by extensive flight connectivity across domestic and international routes. Mumbai remains a key hub for holiday travel, with travellers departing for home destinations, seasonal getaways and international holidays as the year draws to a close.
The airport also maintained strong overall passenger volumes throughout the month, underlining its role as one of India’s busiest aviation gateways connecting millions of flyers to cities across the country and abroad.
CSMIA’s strong performance this season reflects a global trend, with airports worldwide seeing increased holiday travel. Passengers are confident and eager to take festive trips and winter vacations.
