Indian Hotels Company has revealed India's largest skilling centre in Goa, situated at Aguada Plateau. This initiative was launched during the 50th-anniversary celebrations of Taj Fort Aguada Resort and Spa and its objective is to bridge the talent gap in the tourism sector and empower local communities with employment opportunities in hospitality.

The declaration was made during the 50th anniversary celebrations of Taj Fort Aguada Resort and Spa Goa, and Rohan Khaunte, Minister for Tourism Government of Goa, was in attendance.
Punnet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, expressed that the skilling centre is curated in meeting the growing demand for the workforce in the travel and tourism sector. "The skilling centre located on the Aguada plateau will address the critical need for a qualified workforce to support the travel and tourism sector. This capability-building initiative will leverage the untapped talent and bridge the employability gap in the sector," he said.
Rohan Khaunte, Minister for Tourism Government of Goa, noted that the state has a natural talent pool for hospitality. "Goans have a natural flair for hospitality, and as tourism continues to evolve, skilling, reskilling, and upskilling are the need of the hour. Goa, the country's premier leisure and MICE destination, has always been at the heart of tourism," he said.
He added that the initiative will create new job opportunities supporting Goa's vision for sustained growth in the tourism sector. "By fostering essential skilling programs, this effort embraces our principles of regenerative tourism, ensuring sustainable development while empowering local communities and enabling them to build successful careers right here in Goa."
IHCL continues to invest in talent development under the ESG plus framework of Paathys, with 38 skilling centres across the country. This enhances employment opportunities and contributes to the growth of the hospitality sector.
