India To Appoint New Passport And Visa Service Provider In The UAE

New Passport And Visa Service Provider In The UAE - India

Dubai, UAE: The Government of India is set to introduce a new passport and visa service provider across the United Arab Emirates starting July 1, marking a significant transition in its consular service operations for the Indian diaspora.

The change is aimed at improving the delivery of passport, visa, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), and other consular services for Indian nationals and foreign applicants seeking Indian travel documents. The newly appointed agency will take over responsibilities previously managed by the existing service provider.

Indian diplomatic missions in the UAE have advised applicants to complete any pending submissions or collections with the current service centres before the transition date. Following the switchover, all new applications and related services will be processed through the newly designated centres.

Authorities have assured the public that the transition has been carefully planned to ensure minimal disruption. Existing appointments, document processing, and customer support mechanisms are expected to continue under revised operational guidelines issued by the Indian Embassy and Consulates.

The updated service network is also expected to introduce improved customer support, streamlined appointment scheduling, and enhanced digital facilities, making passport and visa-related procedures more efficient for applicants across the UAE.

The UAE is home to one of the largest Indian expatriate communities in the world, with millions of residents relying on consular services for passport renewals, visa applications, OCI documentation, attestation, and other official requirements. The transition is therefore considered an important administrative upgrade aimed at meeting the growing demand for faster and more accessible services.

Applicants are encouraged to check official announcements from the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai for detailed information regarding service centre locations, appointment procedures, fee payments, and operational timelines after July 1.

The move reflects India's ongoing efforts to modernize overseas consular services and improve accessibility for its citizens living abroad through technology-driven and customer-focused service delivery.
