Kerala Tourism has launched several new travel packages and marketing initiatives in major Indian cities in anticipation of the winter and holiday seasons. The initiative is designed to boost domestic and international arrivals by showcasing new destinations, cultural events, and the state’s capabilities in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) and destination weddings.
A. Mohamed Riyas, the state Tourism Minister, said the campaign aims to reinforce Kerala’s image as a safe and inviting place. He added that roadshows and networking events across India will present the new products alongside Kerala’s well-known attractions—its beaches, backwaters, and hill stations.
Kerala has already promoted its potential as a top destination for weddings and MICE events, especially since hosting the Wedding & MICE Conclave in Kochi. The state’s Information Officer noted that Kerala’s mix of natural beauty, lively culture, and good infrastructure gives it strong appeal for luxury, leisure, and event tourism.
Significant events in the coming months, like the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (Dec 12, 2025 – Mar 31, 2026) and the Champions Boat League, are expected to draw many visitors.
Kerala will also host its first travel literary festival, Yaanam 2025: Tales, Trails & Journeys, from October 17–19 at Varkala’s Ranga Kala Kendram, promoting narrative tourism and sustainable travel.
In addition to these events, Kerala continues to expand its offerings with houseboats, caravan tourism, plantation stays, Ayurveda wellness packages, adventure trails, and rural experiences.
In 2024, the state recorded a record 2.22 crore domestic tourist visits, signalling a strong recovery in tourism post-pandemic. Kerelz also earned the PATA Gold Award 2025 for “Most Engaging Social Media Campaign” for its engaging digital efforts.
During the busiest travel season in October, Kerala Tourism is holding B2B meetings and promotional events in Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Pune, Chandigarh, and New Delhi to support the campaign.
