Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation is working to streamline its online booking system by developing a mobile application, which will enable passengers to book tickets with ease. Officials stated that the existing website for booking tickets will also be upgraded by the end of this year, allowing tickets booked through it to be visible to the bus conductor in the passenger chart. Passengers often face inconvenience as their online bookings are not known ot the conductor during chart preparation.
“The corporation is already offering services like booking tickets through e-mitra, travel portals, agents and our own website. Now these services are being integrated and upgraded,” said a senior official from RSRTC. Since 2023, around 500 private agents have been onboarded with RSRTC to make the booking process easier, the official added.
On Wednesday, Deputy CM and Transport Minister Prem Chand Bairwa, after a review meeting, directed officials to make the online ticket booking system of RSRTC more effective and straightforward.
“Technical upgradation should be done to provide comfortable facilities to passengers through mobile applications and the website. Bus stands must be renovated and beautiful, along with clean toilets, clean drinking water, comfortable waiting rooms, digital information boards, and adequate lighting at these bus stands,” instructed the minister.
Managing Director of RSRTC Purushottam Sharma said, “The corporation achieved the highest passenger load of 99.3% in the year 2023-25 and is operating at over 100% at present. With the increasing passenger count, services are being continuously improved. The corporation has also launched the RSRTC Live mobile application for passengers to trace the location of buses.”
Officials stated that when a passenger books a ticket online, the PNR details and a tracking link are shared with the passenger via SMS.
