Skyscanner Reveals Top Trending Travel Destinations For 2026

LONDON — Skyscanner, a global travel search platform, has released its list of the top trending travel destinations for 2026, based on millions of flight and travel searches from around the world. The findings highlight places that are gaining rapid interest from travellers and are expected to be popular choices in the year ahead.

According to the report, several destinations are seeing significant increases in travel demand as travellers look for new experiences and unique places to explore. While the full list of trending destinations was featured in Skyscanner’s Travel Trends 2026 report, data shows notable surges in search interest for places that combine natural beauty, culture, adventure and affordability.

 Key Trending Destinations for 2026

Among the destinations that have seen strong growth in search interest are:

  • Limón, Costa Rica— Seen the highest jump in travel searches, with nearly a 300% increase, driven by its rainforests, beaches and biodiversity.
  • Phu Quoc, Vietnam— Ranked high on the list with an 184% rise in interest, reflecting growing global awareness of its tropical landscapes and beach attractions.
  • Jaipur, India and Bodrum, Turkey — Both showing double-digit increases in searches, with Jaipur seeing strong interest for its heritage and culture, and Bodrum for its coastal charm and luxury appeal.
  • Madeira, Portugal, Vail, Colorado and other emerging spots are also gaining popularity as travellers seek both outdoor adventure and scenic destinations.

Skyscanner’s travel data suggests that travellers in 2026 are increasingly looking for diverse experiences — from eco-tourism and beach escapes to cultural cities and off-the-beaten-path locations. The trends point to a shift away from traditional bucket-list cities alone with growing interest in less crowded and nature-focused destinations.

Industry experts say these travel trends reflect broader shifts in traveller behaviour, including a desire for meaningful exploration, outdoor activities, and authentic local experiences, in inspiration and planning next year’s trips.
