Air India and Saudia have entered into a codeshare agreement with the aim of enhancing connectivity between India and Saudi Arabia, with the agreement set to take effect in February 2026. Under the agreement, the two carriers will now be able to sell seats on each other’s flights, with the passenger having the ability to reach their final destination with check-through baggage.
The agreement is expected to increase the options of the two carriers’ passengers, with the agreement allowing Saudia passengers to reach various Indian cities via Mumbai and Delhi, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Lucknow, Jaipur, and several other cities via extended connections.
At the same time, Air India passengers flying to Jeddah or Riyadh will be able to connect onward on Saudia’s network to key Saudi cities, including Dammam, Abha, Gassim, Gizan, Madinah, and Taif.
The move is aimed at meeting the growing demand for travel between India and Saudi Arabia, driven by tourism, business travel and the large Indian diaspora in the Kingdom. It also reduces the need for travellers to rely on third-country hubs by offering more direct and convenient connections.
Officials say the agreement will improve overall travel convenience by offering better connectivity, more flight choices and smoother itineraries, while strengthening aviation ties between the two countries.
The codeshare marks a strategic step for both airlines as they look to expand their global networks and enhance passenger experience in a key international travel corridor.
