Per the Delhi Government's statement, the new liquor store would be open 24/7 and offer a self-service walk-in experience, allowing customers to choose their preferred liquor brands freely.
The Delhi government has issued a licence to Delhi Consumer's Cooperative Wholesale Stor Limited to open a retail liquor store in Terminal 3's arrival area at the IGI Airport.
As per the statement by the Delhi government, this is the first L-10 liquor store of its kind at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by any Delhi government agency in the currency excise regime. "It is a self-service store with a walk-in experience for the customers in an area of 750 square feet approximately. Customers can pick up the desired brand of their choice on their own,". So far, only duty-free stores are operational upon arrival and departure area of Terminal 3 of the Delhi airport, which cater to international travellers.
There is no liquor store at any of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport's three terminals for domestic travellers, and many staff work there. A comparative rate chart of different liquors sold in other parts of the country will be depicted through LED screens to facilitate general customers. All payment facilities, like UPI credit cards and debit cards, have been made available at the store. "The strategic location of the L-10 Liquor store at Terminal 3 will not only cater to a large unserved area around the Haryana Delhi border but also help curb the illegal supply of non-supply paid liquor from the neighbouring states".
