IndiGo announced the launching of connecting flights via Turkey to Portugal and Switzerland through the codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines to enhance international connectivity.
The new routes and frequencies, effective from November 23, would provide new options and more capability for customers exploring travelling between India and Europe during the holiday season. Vinay Malhotra, the Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, said, "We have witnessed a huge demand for travel from India to Turkey, Switzerland, and Portugal. Considering customer demand, we now provide 19 connecting flights through Istanbul to destinations like Geneva, Lisbon, Porto, and Basel. "This will enhance international connectivity, add capacity to these routes, and make travel more affordable. We will strive to stay true to our promise of affordable fares, on-time performances, and courteous and hassle-free service."
These destinations are known for their breathtaking scenic tourist locations throughout the year. Portugal provides some of Europe's most beautiful beaches with turquoise water surrounded by sandstone cliffs and curiously made rock formations. The capital, Lisbon, Porto, Odemira, Faro, and Sintra, are major tourist attractions.
Turkey serves as the liking of travellers who are fascinated with the history who frequently visit the ancient Greek city of Ephesus and Cappadocia rock valleys, the pure white travertine terraces of Pamukkale, and the ruins of the former Armenian capital Ani, and many more. Attractions such as Hagia Sophia Mosque, Dolmabahce Palace, Bosphorus Strait, Istanbul Sea Life Aquarium, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar, Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum and Istanbul Cevahir Mall are on the bucket list of every traveller; the city has a distinctive mixture of Byzantine and Ottoman architecture. Similarly, Switzerland is considered a paradise on Earth and a beautiful tourist country. The Alpine mountains are from the Balkans to France, making Switzerland a suitable skiing spot. The lakes and cities are must-visit places in Switzerland, and special ones are the towns. The airline said that these flights would promote international tourism trade and commerce and make travel affordable for these destinations through direct connections and extra capacity. Snow-capped mountains, pristine beaches, delicious food, rich culture, and architectural marvels make Europe magical and appealing to customers.
