A third daily flight between London Heathrow and Delhi will begin operating in 2026, according to British Airways, enhancing aviation connectivity between the UK and India.
As part of its long-term commitment to one of its major international markets, the airline is expanding, the one which it has been serving for more than a century. The airline operates 56 direct flights weekly across five major Indian cities — Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. The new Delhi service will provide greater flexibility for passengers along with more convenient options for business travellers, tourists, and the Indian diaspora visiting friends and family.
The announcement aligns with the UK’s “Britain Means Business” trade mission to India, aimed at boosting economic and commercial ties between the two countries. British Airways emphasised that this move reflects its confidence in India’s fast-growing travel market and its growing importance in global aviation.
Alongside the new flight, British Airways continues to enhance its customer experience. The airline recently launched a complimentary Meet & Assist service for passengers flying from India to the UK, helping travellers navigate airports more easily. Since its introduction, more than 5,500 customers have used this service.
As part of its £7 billion global transformation program, the airline is also upgrading lounges, introducing refreshed short-haul aircraft interiors, offering free in-flight messaging, and expanding its Club Suite business class rollout across Indian routes by the end of 2026.
British Airways hopes that these changes will strengthen the close flight connections between India and the UK while offering Indian passengers a more luxurious, connected, and comfortable flying experience.
