Chalet Hotels Limited (CHL) has unveiled ATHIVA Hotels & Resorts, a premium lifestyle hospitality brand that launches with over 6 properties and more than 900 keys in its debut portfolio. Derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “abundance” or “to a great extent”, the brand is built around the ethos of joy, sustainability and wellness.
The first property under the ATHIVA banner is the reimagined ATHIVA Resort & Spa, Khandala (formerly The Dukes Retreat) featuring 147 rooms including 11 suites. Alongside this, CHL has identified five additional assets to transition into the ATHIVA portfolio over time — including a fully renovated business hotel in Navi Mumbai (The Resort at Aksa Beach) and three green-field developments (two in Goa and one in Thiruvananthapuram). The company plans to double the brand’s capacity within three years.
Targeting millennial and Gen Z travellers, ATHIVA introduces guest-centric innovations such as Breakfast@Anytime, Binge Box (a healthier minibar alternative), Dollops of Joy (surprise experiences) and Local Immersions (culture-based activities). Sustainability is integral: each ATHIVA property will include energy-efficient design, waste-conscious operations, local sourcing and community partnerships under CHL’s “Parivartan” programme.
With branded hotel supply in India still comparatively low, this launch positions CHL to capture the growing demand for lifestyle-oriented hospitality by combining its operational track-record with a brand tailored to evolving traveller expectations.
