Virgin Atlantic has announced a significant expansion of its India operations by increasing flight frequency between London Heathrow and Bengaluru to 13 weekly services starting June 1, 2026. The move marks a major step toward near double-daily connectivity between the UK and one of India’s fastest-growing aviation markets.
The enhanced schedule builds on the airline’s continued investment in India, which has emerged as one of Virgin Atlantic’s strongest growth regions outside North America. The increased flights aim to meet rising demand from business travellers, students, and leisure passengers travelling between the UK and southern India.
Strengthening India Network Strategy
Bengaluru plays a key role in Virgin Atlantic’s long-term India expansion strategy. Known globally as India’s technology and innovation hub, the city generates strong corporate travel demand, making it a priority market for improved international connectivity.
The airline already operates double-daily flights from London Heathrow to both Delhi and Mumbai, and the Bengaluru expansion complements these services while reinforcing its presence across major Indian gateways.
Seamless Domestic and Global Connections
The expanded service also enhances connectivity through Virgin Atlantic’s partnership with IndiGo, enabling passengers to access more than 30 onward destinations across India, including Goa, Amritsar, and Jaipur.
Beyond the UK, travellers will gain smoother connections to North American cities such as New York, Toronto, Seattle, and San Francisco via the airline’s joint venture partnerships with Delta Air Lines and Air France-KLM.
Aircraft and Passenger Experience
Flights on the London Heathrow–Bengaluru route will continue to operate using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring Upper Class, Premium, and Economy cabins along with Virgin Atlantic’s signature onboard social space designed to enhance long-haul travel comfort.
Growing Commitment to India
With capacity to India increasing steadily in recent years, Virgin Atlantic’s latest frequency boost highlights the airline’s long-term commitment to strengthening UK–India aviation links and responding to rising passenger demand between the two countries.
