Zingbus has reported a significant rise in intercity bus travel demand, witnessing over 100 per cent growth during weekends as more travellers opt for short getaways and flexible road trips across India.
The company stated that the growing popularity of weekend travel, combined with increasing demand for affordable and comfortable transportation, has contributed to the surge in bookings. Travellers are increasingly choosing overnight and premium bus services for quick intercity journeys between major urban destinations.
According to the platform, routes connecting metro cities and popular leisure destinations have experienced the highest growth in bookings. The rise in demand has also prompted the company to strengthen its operations by adding more buses and expanding its route network to meet passenger needs.
Zingbus noted that shifting travel preferences, remote-work flexibility, and the rising trend of spontaneous weekend vacations are driving the intercity travel boom. The company also highlighted that technology-driven booking experiences and improved onboard comfort are attracting more passengers toward organised bus travel services.
With summer travel and long weekends continuing to fuel demand, the company expects the upward trend in intercity bus bookings to remain strong in the coming months.
