Visitors flocking towards (Archaeological Survey of India) sites can now book online tickets to avoid long queues and save time for a better experience. Red Fort, Taj Mahal, and various other ASI heritage sites are now floating on digital platforms for ticket booking. The integration into ONDC will scale accessibility and convenience through apps like Highway Delite and Pelocal’s WhatsApp service.
The Cultural Ministry stated that over 170 ASI-protected heritage sites, including monuments and museums, are now centrally protected. So, they can now be accessed digitally. This ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) initiative aims to promote open networks for the electronic exchange of goods and services. The initiative is based on open-source methodology, leveraging open specifications and open network protocols not bound to any specific platform.
The Ministry said in a statement that by integrating accessibility with technology, citizens and tourists will be able to book tickets and visit through different platforms. The integration will enable the efficient delivery and transparency of public services.
NDML (NSDL Database Management Limited)has technically enabled the integration of digital platforms to book ASI-listed sites for citizens and visitors. Many additional consumer-centric applications are in the process of integration with the ONDC network.
Visitors booking tickets for ASI monuments and museums can avail benefits, including an INR 5 discount for Indian visitors and an INR 50 discount for foreign nationals.
