Emirates Adds Premium Economy To Cochin And Expands Route Network

Emirates has announced a significant expansion of its Premium Economy service, extending the product to Cochin (Kochi) and several other global destinations as part of its broader fleet upgrade ahead of the peak travel season. The move is aimed at offering travellers a more comfortable and elevated travel experience on long-haul flights between Dubai and key cities.

Starting 29 January 2026, Emirates will introduce Premium Economy on two of the seven weekly flights between Dubai and Cochin (flight numbers EK530/531). The service will operate on a retrofitted Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, featuring wider seats, more legroom and enhanced dining options that sit between standard Economy and Business Class offerings.

The airline’s expansion of Premium Economy is part of a larger plan to extend the product to more than 84 routes worldwide by July 2026. This rollout is being supported by Emirates’ global aircraft modernisation programme, which includes retrofitting older jets and deploying next-generation aircraft such as the Airbus A350 on high-demand sectors.

In addition to Cochin, Emirates is increasing its daily services and A350 deployments on routes to cities such as Copenhagen, Phuket and Cape Town, further strengthening connectivity across Europe, Asia and Africa. These upgraded services will also feature the airline’s latest cabin designs, including Premium Economy, Business and Economy Class options.

Emirates said the expanded Premium Economy offering reflects growing demand from both leisure and corporate travellers for added comfort and choice on long-haul journeys. The enhanced cabin experience is designed to provide passengers with spacious seating, elevated dining and priority service elements that enhance travel comfort without the higher cost of Business Class.

The extension of Premium Economy service to Cochin and other destinations builds on Emirates’ broader strategy of fleet modernisation and network growth ahead of the 2026 summer travel peak, reinforcing its position as a preferred carrier for international travellers seeking both comfort and connectivity.
