Goa Records 6.14 Million Tourist Arrivals In Jan–July 2026

Goa welcomed 61.38 lakh tourists between January and July 2026, with domestic travellers making up the overwhelming majority of arrivals, according to the latest data from the state’s Department of Tourism. The figures represent a marginal 0.08% year-on-year increase over the same period in 2025.

Of the total tourist footfall, 59.02 lakh were domestic visitors, while 2.36 lakh were international tourists. July recorded a comparatively stronger performance, with 6.94 lakh visitors, marking a 2.27% increase over July 2025.

The July growth is particularly significant as the monsoon season is traditionally regarded as an off-peak period for tourism in Goa. Tourism authorities said the numbers indicate continued interest in the destination beyond the conventional peak travel months.

Goa Tourism is now looking to broaden the state’s tourism appeal by promoting experiences beyond its traditional beach-focused offerings. Key segments being highlighted include wellness, heritage, MICE, adventure, nautical tourism, spiritual tourism, gastronomy and workations.

The state is also working to expand its international visitor base by exploring established and emerging overseas markets, improving air connectivity and developing tourism products tailored to different traveller segments.

Tourism officials said the state is also promoting monsoon tourism, encouraging visitors to experience Goa’s hinterland, culture, cuisine, nature, wellness and adventure activities during the green season.

With more than 6.1 million tourist arrivals already recorded in the first seven months, Goa Tourism expects visitor demand to gain further momentum during the second half of the year, supported by the upcoming festive, leisure, MICE and international travel seasons.
