Saudi Arabia has announced an extension of expired visit and exit visas until April 18, 2026, offering relief to foreign nationals affected by ongoing regional travel disruptions. The decision aims to support visitors who were unable to leave the country due to flight interruptions and travel uncertainties.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the extension applies to several visa categories, including visit visas, Umrah visas, transit visas, and final exit permits that expired after February 26, 2026.
Authorities have provided two options for affected travellers. Visitors may extend their visas through the government’s Absher digital platform by paying the required fees, thereby legally remaining in the Kingdom until the new deadline. Alternatively, travellers can exit Saudi Arabia directly through international ports without paying overstay penalties or fines.
The temporary measure is part of broader efforts by Saudi authorities to ease travel procedures and prevent legal complications for visitors stranded during regional disruptions. Officials have urged all eligible visa holders to regularise their status or depart the country before the April 18 deadline, after which normal visa regulations will resume.
This move highlights Saudi Arabia’s continued focus on facilitating smoother travel management while ensuring compliance with immigration rules during unforeseen travel challenges.
