South Korea has announced that it will extend the waiver on visa processing fees for group tourists from six countries, including India, for an additional six months — until the end of June 2026. The decision is part of efforts to maintain momentum in inbound tourism and support the continued recovery of travel demand.
Under the announcement by Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol, the exemption applies to the C-3-2 short-term group visa category, which usually carries a processing fee of about 18,000 Korean won (around USD 12.50). This fee waiver now covers travellers from India, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia and Cambodia.
The move aims to make travel to South Korea more affordable and attractive for tourists travelling in groups, especially for package tours arranged through authorised travel agencies. Officials said the extension will help sustain the growth of international arrivals and encourage more group tourism activity in the first half of 2026.
Recent official data shows that foreign visitor numbers to South Korea have risen sharply, nearing pre-pandemic levels, with an increase of about 17 % in November 2025 compared with the previous year. Tourism authorities hope that easing visa costs will further support this positive trend and attract more visitors, particularly from key Asian markets.
