For the first quarter of 2026, Virgin Atlantic, a British airline, has announced a major increase in its flight operations between Bengaluru and London Heathrow. From January through March 2026, the airline will increase its service on this route from seven to eleven weekly flights, responding to rising passenger and cargo demand and enhancing international connectivity.
The enhanced schedule builds on Virgin Atlantic’s existing daily flight to Bengaluru, which was first launched in March 2024 to serve both passenger and cargo traffic. India has become a key growth market for the airline — its largest outside the United States — as business and leisure travel demand continues to strengthen.
The additional flights are part of Virgin Atlantic’s broader strategy to deepen air links between the UK and India while supporting seamless connections to North America. Through partnerships with Delta Air Lines and WestJet, passengers flying via London Heathrow will find convenient onward options to major North American destinations such as Toronto, Seattle, San Francisco and New York JFK.
Virgin Atlantic’s expanded service complements its double daily flights from London Heathrow to Delhi and Mumbai. It builds on its codeshare partnership with IndiGo Airlines, which provides connections to more than 30 destinations across India, including Goa, Amritsar and Jaipur.
The Bengaluru route is operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, offering 31 Upper Class, 35 Premium and 192 Economy seats, along with the airline’s signature Upper Class social space — a feature popular with long-haul travellers.
Virgin Atlantic executives say the expanded schedule reflects strong traveller interest and reinforces the airline’s commitment to expanding its footprint in India’s rapidly growing aviation market.
