The Emirate of Dubai witnessed heavy footfall from Europe with 2.9 million international tourists in 2023. For the first 11 months of 2023, Dubai hosted 15.37 million tourists on its land. The Department of Economy and Tourism of Dubai stated that their data showed this surge crosses the numbers recorded before the pandemic outbreak.
The second and the third biggest contributors to international tourists were South Asia and the GCC with visitors mounting to 2.75 million and 2.43 million visitors respectively, for the year 2023.
Approximately, two million tourists visiting Dubai were from Common Wealth of Independent states, Russia, and other regions of Europe, adding to 13% of the total footfall witnessed in 2023.
According to sources, such numbers have kept the Dubai hotels, hospitality and other tourism peripherals busy, with an average occupancy of 77.2, crossing the percentage of 74.9 in 2019. Meanwhile, the average stay period this year was 3.8 nights, a little below the average of 2022 which was 4 nights.
