Abu Dhabi, June 2026: Etihad Airways has partnered with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) to offer complimentary medical travel insurance to eligible international visitors flying to the UAE capital. The initiative aims to enhance the travel experience by providing added health protection and greater peace of mind for tourists.
The programme will be available for travel between July and December 2026, offering up to 15 days of medical coverage in the UAE. The insurance will be provided by The National Insurance Company – Daman, part of PureHealth, and will be automatically included with eligible Etihad flight bookings, eliminating the need for a separate application.
International passengers travelling on Etihad-operated flights to Abu Dhabi, with both their journey originating and ticket purchased outside the UAE, will qualify for the complimentary coverage. Visitors taking advantage of Etihad's Stopover Programme will also receive insurance protection during their stay, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
The initiative reflects the shared commitment of Etihad Airways and DCT Abu Dhabi to make travel to the emirate more seamless and secure. By integrating medical insurance directly into eligible flight bookings, the partners aim to simplify travel planning while reinforcing Abu Dhabi's reputation as a welcoming and visitor-friendly destination.
