Fingerprints To Create Art: Meet Dubai Artists Creating Masterpieces.

Lebanese expat Sarah Ibrahim has found a unique way to create art using fingerprints, transforming them into beautiful masterpieces. Her works have been showcased in various luxury hotels, including Dubai's Atlantis, The Palm, and Ras Al Khaimah's Anantara Mina Al Arab.

At 33 years old, Ibrahim's art carries a deeply personal and emotional significance. She explains that fingerprints are inherently unique to each person, symbolising identity and personal history. She embeds a piece of her identity by incorporating her fingerprints into her artwork, creating a tangible connection between herself and her creations.

Ibrahim's artistic journey began at a young age when she explored various craft forms. She enjoyed personalising simple items, such as T-shirts with embroidery or hand-drawn designs, and adding 3D names to glass cups. This early creative expression eventually led her to experiment with different techniques until she discovered her passion for using fingerprints in her art.

Her childhood in the small town of Zeghdraya in southern Lebanon significantly shaped her artistic vision. Inspired by the intricate patterns found in nature, she marvelled at the textures of rocks and the movement of grass in the wind. Additionally, her father's talent in handmade crafts influenced her appreciation for creating functional art from raw materials.

Ibrahim's fingerprint technique allows her to express her heritage and experiences in a profoundly intimate way. She describes her process as an exploration of connectivity and roots. She uses unique methods and special materials to make her art distinctive and resonate with her clients. The creation of each piece involves making circles with her fingers, each containing a fingerprint, which is then combined to form intricate patterns.

For Ibrahim, art is more than just a profession; it is an emotional release and stress relief. She often immerses herself in her work, accompanied by soothing music, losing track of time as she dives into her creative world. Her family's support, particularly from her mother and husband, has kept her focused and determined.

Looking to the future, Ibrahim hopes to expand her reach internationally and inspire others through her work. One of her aspirations is to see her art displayed in the Louvre Abu Dhabi. Her dedication to creating meaningful and impactful art is reflected in her pieces, which continue to captivate audiences in luxurious venues across the UAE.
