Jebel Jais, Jebel Hafit, And More: Plan Your UAE Adventure With This List

Favourable weather conditions invite you to trek and camp overnight. So, grab your wheel and ride to your nearest hill.

Jebel Jais

Jebel Jais is a part of the Hajar mountain range. It peaks at the highest in the United Arab Emirates. Jebel Jais expands its glory to Ras Al Khaimah and the Musandam Peninsula with a distance of 700 kilometres. Cradling between UAE and Oman, Jebel Jais is a hub for adventure seekers and thrill lovers.  The cool climate and stunning panorama provide tourists and visitors with an ecstatic experience. A rare snowfall decorates the rugged mountains with an enriching and breathtaking landscape.

Jebel Hafit

Sunrise and sunset lovers should not forget to carry their lenses when heading to Jebel Hafit. Just a stone’s throw away, Al Ain awaits its curious onlookers to impress them with some clicks. Hailing as the highest peak in Abu Dhabi and second in the United Arab Emirates, the skyline is beautiful. The summit can be reached by motorbike, car or bicycle. Jebel Hafit punctuates the Oman border and is filled with geological fossil discoveries that add to the history of the region.

Wadi Ghalilah

Wadi Ghalilah is a challenging trek and is a top choice for tough-terrain seekers. The place is known for its dams, trails and a not-so-easy climb known as ‘Stairway to Heaven’. Characters like agriculture, valleys, farmlands, honey production and wheat cultivation make this place out of an English novel. High fitness levels and good protective gear are a must when heading to Wadi Ghalilah.

Wadi Bih

Emerging in RAK and spanning the Hajar Mountains, Wadi Bih takes a complete circle crossing the Gulf of Oman. Before ending its journey, Wadi Bih is punctuated by a river valley, canyons and cliffs, reaching a height of 1 km above sea level. Views here are at par with the expectations of the visitor while birdwatching sights and abandoned settlements welcome you with great hospitality.

Hatta Mountains and Lake

The famed Hatta Mountains and its neighbouring nature celebrities vest with rich geological past, ancient landscapes and ancient fossils. Trekking, cycling, photography, camping, biking and yoga are some of the takeaways. Enthusiasts can rent bikes and explore trails that will leave one speechless. Visitors can also enjoy tranquillity by practising yoga and meditation. Hatta Mountains is a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Dubai. Popular for its natural serenity and abundant birdlife, it is a peaceful escape.

Wadi Shawka

Wadi Shawka, is an enticing seasonal river bed that takes its shape by rainfall over the mountains. The valley is a showstopper for natural beauty. Wadi Shawka features an agricultural past and modern farms. Hiking, running and cycling are to look out for in this region.  Recreational areas with barbecue spots and a children's play area are quite suitable for families and groups.
