Sharjah is building a revolutionary transportation system by introducing the region's first-ever sky pod. Developed by uSky Transport, the innovative technology is currently being tested at Research Technology and Innovation Park, Sharjah.
The sky pod features 25 seats and is designed to travel at speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour along a 2.4 km test track. The track has a load capacity of 50 tonnes, enabling it to carry containers, all without the need for heavy concrete structures or bridges.
One of the most striking aspects of this project is its cost-effectiveness. According to uSky Technology, the sky pod system is five times cheaper than any comparable overland metro line. This affordability, coupled with its sustainable nature, has led to speculation that it could represent the future of public Transport in urban areas.
Oleg Zaretskiy, Chief Executive of Uscovery, expressed his enthusiasm for the project's potential, stating, "We are negotiating with top cities in the world. I want our systems to be in Dubai very soon. I really desire to do this, and this is my dream project.
He continued about the sky pod, "We developed third-generation designs and concepts for such projects. Machines that will travel with a speed of more than 100 kilometres per hour and will carry more than 70 people in one Pod."
