Based on over eight million reviews, the recognition underscores the mosque's role as a leading cultural tourism destination attracting millions of visitors and high-level dignitaries from around the world.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi has achieved a prominent global milestone, placing eighth among the world's top 25 landmarks in TripAdvisor's 2025 Top Attractions rankings. The mosque also maintained its position as the leading attraction in the Middle East, topping a list of ten iconic regional sites. The ranking swerve was determined through an analysis of more than eight million global reviews, placing the SZGM in the top one per cent of all reviewed landmarks.
Additionally, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah is ranked within the top 10 per cent of landmarks worldwide. A recognition achieved shortly after introducing visitor services. His Excellency Dr Yousif Al Obaidli, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, said: "The global recognition attained by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi reflects the visionary leadership of the UAE. It is the outcome of the centre's strategic plan, which focuses on enhancing services and providing exceptional experiences for its guests."
The SZGM attracts over seven million visitors annually, offering a range of cultural and community facilities. Its visit centre features exhibition halls, an auditorium, and a library alongside Souq Al Jami with shops, restaurants and recreational areas. Outdoor amenities include a jogging track that integrates wellness with panoramic mosque views.
The SZGMC continues to expand its offerings with cultural tours led by Emirati specialities, the Unseen Glimpses, guided electric car tours and the Sura evening experience providing 24-hour access for transit and late hour visitors. The EI Delleel multimedia system delivers immersive tours in 14 languages with tailored options for children and visitors with hearing impairments.
Regarding these experiences, which include the Dome of Peace, Al Jami Library, and the creation of an exhibition highlighting Islamic art and heritage. Also, the Light and Peace Museum and the Diya, which is a symbol of a Universe of Light immersive show, offer interactive cultural storytelling. Thus, reinforcing the mosque's mission of fostering coexistence and cross-cultural dialogue. Approximately 82 per cent of visitors arriving from overseas, the SZGM remains a main point for global dignitaries and visitors.
